This is the licence for the nothanumber app. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to it. It works alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If there is any conflict about the app licence itself, this agreement applies.
This End-User Licence Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you ("you") and nothanumber ("we", "us", "our") governing your use of the nothanumber mobile application (the "App") and the telecommunications services provided through it (the "Service"). We operate as a UK communications provider and provide the Service in accordance with the Communications Act 2003 and Ofcom's General Conditions of Entitlement.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use one copy of the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use, in line with the Apple App Store Terms of Service. This is a licence, not a sale; we and our licensors keep all rights, title, and interest in the App.
The App provides access to telecommunications services, which may include a UK phone number, voice calls, SMS messaging, voicemail, and data SIM/eSIM connectivity. Calls and messages are carried over the public telephone network and licensed mobile carrier networks. We act as a telecommunications reseller, routing services through licensed UK network operators. Service quality and coverage depend on factors outside our control, including your internet connection, device, and third-party carriers.
You must be at least 18 years old and a UK resident to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your login credentials secure, and to be responsible for all activity under your account. One account per person. We may carry out identity verification where required by law or our network operators.
nothanumber CANNOT be used to make calls to the emergency services (999 or 112). Emergency calling is not available through the App. You must always have an alternative means of contacting the emergency services, such as your mobile network's native dialler, and you must not rely on nothanumber as your only means of communication.
In line with Ofcom's General Conditions, we make this limitation clear to you before you use the Service and again at the point of use. By using the Service you acknowledge and accept this limitation.
You may use the App and Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
We may suspend or terminate your access immediately for any breach, and we are not obliged to refund unused wallet credit where suspension follows misuse.
Any UK phone number assigned to you is licensed to you under the underlying network operator's allocation from Ofcom's National Telephone Numbering Plan, and it is not owned by you. We may change or reclaim a number where required by a network operator, by Ofcom, or for fraud, non-payment, prolonged non-use, or breach, giving you reasonable notice where practicable.
Our service interconnects with the UK number portability system, so you can call and text numbers that have been ported between networks. Whether a specific number can be ported into or out of nothanumber depends on the underlying network operator and the type of number. Some operators do not support porting for app-based secondary-number services of this kind. Where porting of your number is available, we will tell you how to request it in the App and will not charge you a fee solely for porting your number out.
The Service operates on a prepaid wallet basis. You add credit and usage is deducted as you go. Prices are shown in the App, and we tell you the relevant charges before you are bound by a contract.
We provide accurate billing and, on request, itemised information about your usage. When you make calls, a valid Calling Line Identification (caller ID) is presented in accordance with Ofcom's rules. We will tell you clearly about the cost of any non-standard or premium-rate numbers before you are charged for them.
We operate a complaints process and aim to put things right quickly and fairly. If something goes wrong, contact us first at support@nothanumber.com and we will look into it.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your complaint, you can get free, independent advice about your rights from Ofcom (ofcom.org.uk) or Citizens Advice.
We are committed to treating all customers fairly and to identifying and supporting customers in vulnerable circumstances, in line with Ofcom's guidance. If you need additional support, please contact us at support@nothanumber.com.
Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how we use it, including the call and message metadata needed to provide and bill the Service under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. By using the App you consent to that processing.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The App and Service are provided "as is" and "as available" to the fullest extent permitted by law. Telecommunications services depend on third-party networks outside our control, and we do not warrant that every call or message will be delivered. Nothing in this Agreement excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud), and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability arising out of this Agreement will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
This Agreement is between you and nothanumber only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). nothanumber, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content. You acknowledge that:
This Agreement applies until terminated. We may suspend or end your licence and access for breach or where required by law or a network operator. You may stop using the App and close your account at any time from the Account screen or by emailing us. Closing your account releases any phone numbers assigned to it. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 6, 9, 11–14, 16) survive termination.
This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
We may update this Agreement from time to time. We will notify you by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
