Terms of Service

By creating an account and using nothanumber, you agree to these terms. Please read them — they're written in plain English and kept as short as possible.

1. The service

nothanumber provides virtual UK phone numbers, SMS messaging, voice calls, and data SIM services via our iOS app ("the Service"). We act as a telecommunications reseller, routing services through licensed UK network operators.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United Kingdom to use the Service. By signing up, you confirm that this is true. We reserve the right to verify identity in line with UK telecoms regulations.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your account with anyone else. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@nothanumber.com.

One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or obtain service credits is not permitted.

4. Wallet and billing

The Service operates on a prepaid wallet basis. You add credit to your wallet and usage is deducted as you go. There are no monthly commitments unless you purchase a number rental, which renews monthly until cancelled.

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not use it to:

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if we detect misuse, without obligation to refund unused wallet credit.

6. Number ownership

UK phone numbers are licensed, not owned. The number assigned to your account remains the property of the underlying network operator and is provided to you under licence for as long as your rental is active and paid. We cannot guarantee that a specific number will remain available indefinitely.

Number porting (transferring your number in from another provider) is not currently supported but is on our roadmap.

7. Emergency calls

Important: nothanumber phone numbers cannot be used to make emergency calls (999, 112). You must always have an alternative means of making emergency calls. Do not rely on nothanumber as your sole means of communication.

8. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Telecommunications services depend on third-party networks outside our control. We are not liable for outages caused by network operators, infrastructure failures, or events beyond our reasonable control.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your account if:

You may close your account at any time from the Account screen in the app or by emailing us. Closing your account releases any phone numbers assigned to it.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, nothanumber's total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or loss-of-profit damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
