The short version: we collect only what's needed to run your account and provide your services. We never sell your data, never upload your contacts, and never use your calls or messages for advertising.

nothanumber ("we", "us", "our") is a UK telecommunications service providing virtual phone numbers, SMS, voice calls, and data SIMs via our mobile app. You can contact us at support@nothanumber.com.

2. What information we collect

Account information — when you sign up we collect your email address and a hashed password. We do not collect your name unless you choose to provide it.

Phone number and usage data — we hold the UK phone numbers assigned to your account, along with call records (date, time, duration, destination number) and SMS metadata (date, time, sender, recipient) needed to bill you and comply with UK telecoms regulations.

Wallet and payment data — we hold your account balance and transaction history. Payment card processing is handled entirely by our payment provider; we never store your full card number.

Device information — we collect basic device identifiers (for push notifications) and app version information for debugging.

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active, plus 6 years after closure (required by UK financial regulations). Call records and SMS metadata are retained for 12 months as required by UK law. You may request deletion of non-legally-required data at any time.

9. Security

We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Sensitive credentials (such as supplier passwords) are encrypted using AES-256 before storage. Access to production systems is restricted and audited.

10. Microphone access

The app requests microphone permission to enable voice calls through your nothanumber. Audio is transmitted directly to the call recipient via an encrypted connection and is not recorded or stored by us.

11. Changes to this policy

We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
